Our core business is centered on our WaterSaver™ low-energy dishwashing machines. In 1954, the first Auto-Chlor System low-energy dishwashing machine was made available to foodservice operators. The low-energy concept is based on a safe sanitizing solution that fully meets all regulatory disinfecting criteria at a minimum 120 degree temperature. energy star logoThis low-energy method reduces the energy required to heat the water used in the cleaning and sanitizing process. In addition to the reduction in energy consumed, at approximately 1.09 (or less) gallons of water used per complete wash and rinse cycle, the Auto-Chlor System dishwashing machines are the lowest water consuming dishwashing machines within their respective categories. The complete range of Auto-Chlor System dishwashing machines earned the distinguished Energy Star qualification.

In November 2008, EPA’s Design for Environment (DfE) Program recognized its newly appointed Safer Detergent Stewardship Initiative (SDSI) Champions and Partners. sdsi_logo_epsThrough (SDSI), EPA’s Design for the Environment Program recognizes environmental leaders who voluntarily commit to the use of safer surfactants. Safer surfactants are surfactants that break down quickly to non-polluting compounds and help protect aquatic life in both fresh and saltwater. The use of APE in all of the Auto-Chlor System chemical formulations was eliminated before or during the year end 2000, years ahead of industry and governmental recognition of the importance of this initiative. Auto-Chlor System was among the initial recipients of the SDSI CHAMPION designation.  SDSI CHAMPION is the highest level of recognition offered under SDSI.

Auto-Chlor System has introduced and continues to GREEN KLEEN LOGOexpand an innovative Green Kleen product line. Green Kleen products are formulated to meet and exceed the Environmental Protection Agency Safer Choice – EPA Safer Product Standards criteria and have been reviewed by DfE and earned their approval.

In addition to environmentally conscientious decisions with regard to our chemical formulations, over the years Auto-Chlor System has contributedPrint significantly to minimize the impact of non-biodegradable material hauled to landfills. Since our beginning in 1938, Auto-Chlor System has made a conscientious effort to reuse containers. Still today, in our daily practice we encourage our customers to retain containers and during our scheduled service visit, our technician collects the used containers and returns them to our local service center for reclamation and reuse.
